The company of Müller & Bauer has been producing metal packaging in Metzingen near Stuttgart since 1899. Currently, the company employs 100 people to manufacture blank and printed packaging from aluminium and tinplate for customers in Germany, Europe and overseas.

Reliability, honesty and mutual respect in everyday dealings with our business partners and colleagues simplifies the realisation of our shared aims. We feel we have a responsibility to protect our environment. This applies to the use of materials, energy requirements and to the maintenance of our natural surroundings.
History — Experience and change
In 1899, the company of Müller & Bauer began production in Metzingen near Stuttgart. The two founders had seen that tight-closing metal tins were required for shoe creams, which had become ever more liquid due to the addition of turpentine. Even today, the company is run along the lines set out by the company founders: We change continually, according to experience gained, in order to fulfil the requirements of both the market and our customers to the best of our ability. Even today, Müller & Bauer continues production in Metzingen for customers around the world.
Environmental protection — Responsibility and commitment
For us, environmental production is the natural thing to do. For some time now, the recycling of our raw materials and the protection of our climate have been a fixed component of company policy. Since the beginning of the 1980s, we have been committed to responsible handling of tinplate and aluminium. The company invested in a new printing and painting system in 2003, which is particularly environmentally-friendly, thanks to the low CO2 emissions.
We have developed an energy management system in accordance with the international standard DIN EN ISO 50001 so as to continuously improve the energy efficiency within our company and reduce emissions to a minimum. The certification was performed by QUAZERT Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen mbH on 16 November 2015.
Awards — Innovation und dynamics
Traditionally, we have placed great store in the development of new metal packaging: This is shown by the awards at the 1967 Packaging Oscars, the 2003 Packaging Competition and the Can of the Year Award 2006. Quality management — Checking and quality
At Müller & Bauer, quality control takes place during the project planning phase. The individual manufacturing processes are planned to achieve the highest possible quality. Long-term studies and continuous further training of our employees ensures the highest level of quality. The ISO 9001 certification confirms that our quality management system meets the basic principles of the international standard DIN EN ISO 9001. The testing and certification was carried out on 15th May 2018 by the PÜG Prüf- und Überwachungsgesellschaft mbH.
